Pierre is a photographer, a storyteller and a world traveller, based in Bali, Indonesia. Following a series of life crises and events, he quit his high-level-high-stress corporate job in the airline industry to embrace a new way of living, taking a major 180° lifestyle change, healthy, happy and purposely. Along his journey, he learned the blissful joy of attempting to become the best of himself.
“I thought I had it all. A good job that paid very well, lots of fun… but slowly, I couldn’t sustain the lifestyle that I so dearly cherished.. To deal with the high level of stress brought forth by my job, I was heavily indulging in alcohol and drugs, in an attempt to escape some parts of my reality.”
But slowly, the reality kicked-in. At age 56, the stress level of work became unmanageable and Pierre’s financial situation, heavily taxed by his substance abuse pattern, crashed. The final blow was his mother passing away.
“That was more than enough to send me into a physical and mental crisis. Extreme high blood-pressure and mental depression became my reality. Even at the top of my 6’1” (185cm), my body weight was at 285pds (130kg) and my blood pressure at 180 over 100. I was a ticking bomb with a cardiovascular accident waiting to happen ! I guess I needed a strong signal before taking control of my life. So I quit the job that was making me sick, sold everything I owned and started traveling in search of my new paradise.”
It is in Bali, Indonesia, that after 18 months of searching, Pierre found what he was looking for. With the help of a close-knit community and a life coach, he successfully modified his eating habits, eliminating substance abuse and incorporating light body training to his daily routine, as well as focussing on being present and mindful in his daily life, Pierre has dropped his body weight by 70pds/34kg, no longer needs medications for high blood-pressure and his depression.
“ I am now on a quest to share with other human beings how I managed to change my own life BEFORE it was too late, with the strong desire of helping those who feel stuck and are ready to do what it takes to make the changes.”
Pierre has travelled to more than 25 countries around the world, in constant amazement of the human nature. He is a true life explorer, in every sense of the term.
During his downtime, Pierre is also a pretty good photographer. See his images here.
